Wells + Associates Web Update Photography

I really enjoyed working as the principle photographer for Wells + Associates new website with.  I photographed numerous transportation related projects for the civil engineering firm's portfolio, the new staff portraits, and produced the time-lapse photography for home page presentation.  This video shows the website features quite nice and succinctly.  Here's the link to the website itself.

Sold Sticker Heaven

Quite a sight to see 7 sold stickers below my 2 prints (that's one of the great things about Photogrpahs: multiple copes available!) at Hickok Cole's (the venerable DC based architecture firm) wonderful, annual fundraiser for the Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) last month. The prints were pano images of The Lincoln Memorial and a view of the Georgetown Waterfront.

4th of July Pano in Post Magazine

My panorama of the crowd on The Mall awaiting the 4th of July fireworks this summer was published in today's Washington Post Magazine's special issue about the spiritual roll The Mall plays for our nation. 

David Burnett shot a lyrical set of images of The Mall that are featured in this special issue...check it out...honored and lucky to be published with that nutty, great photog friend!

Big Print and Project for DS&MG

My friend Maggie at Arlington Transportation Partners just sent me this pic of a 100 inch long pano print of mine they just hung in their office...psyched to be working on a major image library shoot throughout the rest of the year for The Destination Sales & Marketing Group that administer's Arlington Trans Partners program along with GoDCGo that promotes Capital BikeShare, Circulator Bus, and other alternative transportation initiatives in the DC Metro region  Will be photographing a wide range of transportation images for the project.

I am absolutely thrilled to let you know my photograph of The Capitol encased in scaffolding won recognition in the 2015 Communication Arts (CA) Photography Annual.  CA is the premiere journal of professional visual communications and promotes the highest standards in the field.  The image won in the For Sale category as a stock photograph in the Nat Geo Creative image collection.   The Photo Annual is the July/August issue of CA.

Sandy Spring Bank HQ Interiors for Perkins + Will

Perkins + Will's (PW) DC office had me shoot interiors of the Sandy Spring Call Center building in Columbia, MD for their project image archive...this is a PW company email blast to update staff on completed projects.

DC Circulator on The Mall

Check out the new DC Circulator National Mall Route Bus Service...it connects National Mall to the rest of the city with regular stops and a flat $1 per ride price.  I shot the photographs last fall for the Circulator's campaign announcing the new service that just started this week.

Future Thinking on Georgetown

There's an article in today's Washington Post Style section about proposed ideas to modernize Georgetown, DC's oldest neighborhood in the coming decades.  The plans put together by the Georgetown Business Improvement District (Georgetown BID) and it's neighborhood partners include lighting Key Bridge, a gondola (yes, you saw right, gondola) across the Potomac River to/fro Rossyln, Va., and even a metro station in the years to come.  The story is illustrated with one of my photographs showing a temporary "Parklet," a parking space transformed into a green space with seating, that the BID sponsored last fall. I have been Georgetown BID's principle contract photographer for the past 2 years creating an ongoing image library the organization uses to report and promote the area.

REI Coming to NoMa in Beatles' Place

I am psyched to see the news that REI is going to locate a super-store in the Uline Arena building in NoMa!  You may recall that Uline Arena, also known as the Washington Arena, was the first place the Beatles had a concert in the US after they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964.  It has been a hollowed out shell, except for a few scattered upper level theater seats, and used as a parking lot for over a decade.  Douglas Development is in the process of redeveloping the building.

I have a soft-spot in my heart for REI as I worked at their original Seattle, WA store one summer during college (yes, a long, long time ago!!!) I spent out west.  I learned how to operate a fork lift in the store's warehouse!…and also got to hike all over The Cascades that summer.  And I love NoMa too as I have been the principle contract photographer for the NoMa Business Improvement District for almost 4 years.

It's such a great fit for the space and the neighborhood…what a statement of how hip, cool, and livable NoMa and DC has become!
